Strategic Trauma Responsive Education

This multi-session professional development series is designed for early childhood educators, program leaders, and child- and family-serving professionals seeking to deepen their understanding and practice of trauma-responsive care in early education settings.

Through a strategic and equity-centered lens, participants will explore how trauma and toxic stress impact young children’s development, behavior, and learning—and what we can do to foster safety, healing, and resilience. Each session will offer a blend of research-based insights, real-world examples, and practical tools that educators can immediately apply in classrooms and programs.

The series will go beyond surface-level awareness and provide opportunities for deep reflection, discussion, and planning. Topics include co-regulation strategies, trauma-informed discipline, culturally responsive family partnerships, and systems-level change. Participants will also examine the importance of staff wellness and explore ways to sustain trauma-responsive practices across their teams and settings.

Whether you're just starting this journey or looking to expand your trauma-responsive framework, this series will equip you with actionable strategies and a renewed commitment to nurturing safe, connected, and resilient learning environments for all children.
